The riverboat tour took us past the Trail Breaker Kennels and while we learned a lot yesterday today we got to see them work the dogs - it was pretty spectacular

I've read several books about the Iditarod. It must have been fun to see the dogs working!

An Iditarod on dry landamazing. Growing up in northern Mn. I had friends that did the Iditarod for a few years. I prefer the one without the snow.

We were amazed how they run in harness in the summer pulling that little RV thing. The dogs would go nuts when it was time to run: "Pick me, pick me!!!!" Also, we were surprised at the variety in the "American Husky" dogs and to learn about the traits they're bred for--wasn't what I thought of as "Huskies" going in. Loving these pages about your travels!
