2017Dec14 hopes

Please do not let the journaling bring you down. I am happy, blessed and a survivor. But I have two sons who are struggling these days with trying to understand women and what is correct. I was riding to the hockey game with 3 young men who are married and even they do know exactly how to behave anymore. Times are changes and so as a women I have big dreams and hopes and I have sons who I am determined to be a big part of the change.

It does no good to share if the journaling can't be read.

My parents are dead and I am left with so many unanswered questions. Besides wondering what their hopes and dreams for me were I want to know more importantly what lead them to act as they did. I ended up with a fantastic education, job, and family. My two sons have been told for forever that my dreams for them only is to follow their passion and contribute to society. Both are doing so. But we live in changing times where stories are finally being able to be told

This is mine. I am a survivor of incest. I tell this not to make any one feel sorry for me but to let others know their are survivors. I did not even know the word incest while this was happening, no one ever spoke of it. Now as an adult I look back and realize my mom did nothing because she did not want to be a single woman making a living for her kids. My dad did behaved this way because he had my mom on a pedestal and could not stray outside of marriage. But what in their lives allowed them to think this was OK. I did not think I tell anyone. I went to college and never came home. This is my #METOO story

I heard this story last night. A young man was called into HR because he would not help his female co-worker even though it was her job and after 2 years on the job she would not do it. She batted her eyes, she rubbed his arm and back. But he refused. HR said he the words he used to refuse were not appropriate. He explained to HR that this womans actions were sexual harassment. He is a married man and she should not be touching him. Sexual harassment goes both ways. This is his #METOO story
I know it took a lot of courage to make and share your #metoo page and I know this because I have not made mine. Kudos. Well done! I love that you also shared the story from a male.

I actually can't read the journaling, and wish I could. The page, however is wonderful. Love the "14."

Hi, Nancy. I, too, am unable to read the journaling but wish I could. I like the look of your page, though!

Agree with Linda, poignant journaling! A story that has to be told for the younger generations to learn from and understand. I do love your baby photo!

Agree with everyone, what a poignant story! I was first drawn to your layout because of the artistry (and the cute baby picture). You are one strong, brave lady! I am sorry for what happened to you, but you are indeed a survivor - God Bless!

Nancy, I so admire your strength and fortitude. And your courage. Why anyone thinks it's okay to harm a child is beyond me, but I am thankful that horrific stories like yours are changing the minds and hopefully actions of others. Your sons are lucky to have such an understanding mother.
