My Purpose as a Child of God
Journaling reads: This is a summary of my purpose of life as a child of God. In Christian theology, the purpose of life is multifaceted, but basically, my purpose is to glorify God in all that I do and enjoying Him forever. That is catechism #1. This involves a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, reflecting His character in all that I do and say, and contributing to His kingdom on earth. The BIBLE is our guide book…..Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.
1.
Glorifying God - "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31
- Everything exists for God's glory, and therefore, my life should be lived in a way that honors Him. This includes aligning my thoughts, actions, and desires with God's will as revealed in the Bible by living righteously, loving others, and sharing the Gospel. My purpose is to point others towards Jesus Christ, who is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. No one will enter heaven unless they receive forgiveness through His work on the cross in paying for their sins.
2.
Enjoying God - "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” Philippians 4:4
- The Christian life is not simply about duty or obligation, but also about experiencing joy and fulfillment in a relationship with God. Finding joy in God, as revealed through Jesus Christ, is a key aspect of the Christian purpose. This involves developing a deep and personal relationship with God through prayer, worship, and studying Scripture. "Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy” 1 Peter 1:8
