The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Good morning, friends!
Can I just say that yesterday's weather here was *wild??* It snowed on and off the entire day. Nothing stuck other than some spots on the grass and on cars here, but local FB pages were pretty crazy, showing some of the roads just north of me.
Thankfully, my family didn't have any trouble traveling here and we had a wonderful time together for our bagels and birthday celebration. And yippeee! We all fit at the table LOL!
My next question is how we are going to fit everyone for Thanksgiving... I definitely need at least one more table. I wish I could remember how I set it up last year. We are going to have 12-14 adults and two little ones. (That I know of. Things always change rapidly here)
By the time everyone left and I cleaned up, it was time for the retreat meeting. Aside from being distracted at how utterly old and tired I look on camera ;) , I think we have the day sketched out as best as it can be. Lots of areas that can and will change on the actual day - weather being the biggest variable- but it is all good. Right?? Right. *fingers crossed*

Meanwhile, my family and its kooky health problems are always, shall we say "interesting" as a nice, neutral word. My mom had an appointment with her hematologist before she came to my house and she is starting iron infusions soon. The injections are not doing enough to make a difference. Caitlyn starts her iron infusions today. Then Sam tells us that Sott has been having chest pains for a while and had a doctor's appointment last night. He is like my parents and didn't say a word to us, even though he was thinking about calling an ambulance on Saturday, they were so bad. *bangs head on desk*
Thank goodness, it wasn;t his heart but apparently he also has scoliosis. The spine and hips are out of whack, making his ribs hurt. Well, I am glad it isn't his heart (he was born with two heart defects, so always a worry for me) but now I feel bad that I "gave" both kids scoliosis.

Hooo boy! It is always something :D

I am cleaning for my friend this morning and then I would *love* to scrap this afternoon. I might end up working some more on my retreat programs... I am an awful public speaker. Even though I know what I am talking about, I struggle to get it out clearly. Or I forget stuff. (It is also completely possible I am just very hard on myself and expect perfection from myself. *shrugs* Could be... :p)

I should sign off soon. I have to do yoga this morning before I go to work. If I don't, I'll tell myself I'll do it "later" and later never comes.

Hugs to you all!

Eep. I forgot that today is bill-paying day....
Gotta do that too.

Gary sounds like Mark. Present him with a problem and he will figure out a way to fix it!
Your temperature is warmer than ours! It's only 28 right now ar 8 am!
And neither of them will give up until they do. :D
Yikes, that is cold, cold, cold! Hope it warms up today! It's 34* right now here, already warmer than the high for yesterday.
Ladies I am in Florida with 37* What is wrong with this picture. Tampa set record low last night 39* old record was 40* from 1890 ish.
:jawdrop2:

Gel shot was ok....just one more. PT was fun-not! but I am making great progress so its all good. Thursday I need to bring walker and cane so I will graduate to cane I think- don't tell but i am using cane in the house for a day now..
That is very exciting. And no worries, I won't say a word.... shhhhh!
Brrrr... it is 34*F right now. :brrr: But it may get up into the high 50's late this afternoon. No snow or rain in the forecast for this week. I was looking back at photos from this time last year... and we were covered with a big snow.
Yikes, we were all freezing here yesterday.
Of course, being me... I ended up scrapping a couple of tracker pages to use for it. :D
That's awesome as well as totally not surprising ♥

28° here at 8. Mom in Fort Myers had 42°.
*gulps*
Once when we were slated to host 8 around our table, that really only goes to 6 comfortably, David bought a piece of plywood, trimmed the corners a bit, put a couple stops on the bottom so it wouldn't slide off the table, and we covered it with a big tablecloth.
Whatever works to have everyone together :) But I would've been nervous about someone leaning on the end and flipping it, too. Although that would make for a pretty funny family tale for the future. Definitely *not* funny in the moment.
Yup! Sunny and cold! Everyone was very chatty today! Love seeing them Fellowship together!
Sounds like you had an amazing day!

I had to chuckle at this reading because, if I didn't know better, I would swear your and my kids were conspiring.....
My oldest had her first colonoscopy a few days ago and announced on our family text that, "thanks to momma's polyps, you ALL need to get your colonoscopies!" Apparently, my name was being "revered" while she was giving her family medical health to her doctor, LOL! I told her she was welcome because I only share the best of me with her! She said she thought she had a lot of my traits! And she does! And her brother next to her has all the traits of his father! And it pleases me! I just hope he doesn't end up with cancer, too!
And then there are your comments about public speaking! I'm not exactly fond of it, either! You can read about my day here: https://oscraps.com/community/threads/november-30-days-challenge-days-11-and-12-combined.43168/. You will get a kick out of it! ;)
I'm glad your family "fit" at your table and you had a great time with the family!

Quick in and out. I've got to leave to return the "limo" to Avis. My pastor will meet me there and bring me back home. I will then head to lunch with Mark. BBL.......

Good morning. Yesterday was exhausting and I didn't make it in here at all. But I thought about you constantly and what I would say when I did make it in. Oh my...

So the past two days I needed to go earlier in the day to take Waverleigh to school because her mom was out of town and that meant my nephew was doing daycare drop off for the boys and then going to work. Then, I went to breakfast with a couple of old friends that I have known more than 50 years. We hadn't seen each other in a long, long time. We had breakfast and then went to a nearby bookstore. The owner is a young woman adopted from China and she is such a delight. But there was really no one in the store yesterday. So we 3 women had her all to ourselves and she has the most wonderful book recommendations. I bought one for his birthday. It's called Humble Pie and I just fell in love with it when I started reading it, I just had to get it. If you have any young kids to buy for, this is a great book! As it turned out, each of my friends bought the book after seeing mine because they have grandkids around that age. They are both former elementary teachers and so I was pretty proud of myself.

Then last night, we had a northern lights show. So that was fun. I saw the northern lights for the first time on our cruise to Alaska in May of 2024. Then, we saw them again in Iowa last summer. And last night's show display was remarkable. But I do wonder what is really going on that I went 66 years never seeing them and now have seen them multiple times.

Lots to do today so I'm sure that I won't get it all done! But I have good intentions! I'll be back in a bit with personals.

I'm so disappointed that I missed the aurora last night! Several people in Charlottesville posted pictures on reddit, so I know it was visible, but I was in chorus rehearsal until 9:00 and then when I looked outside it was cloudy.:crying1: I'm going to see if tonight looks to be a good possibility, and if so will drive up the mountain to Shenandoah National Park (it's only 12 miles) and try. First I'll have to buy gas because my car is nagging me that it only has 20 miles left in the gas tank. I hate buying gas -- decades with NJ's can't-pump-your-own rule has spoiled me.

I did get one page scrapped yesterday. Took me forever and I'm not really happy with it but it will have to do. I see so many pages in the gallery that I want mine to look like, and even if I try to copy them, I don't seem to have the right photos or can make the elements mesh so well, or something. I need a better artistic eye, but I will admit that's never been my strength. One of the reasons I love digi-scrapping is that I can usually make something reasonable with other people's artistry.

Forecast to get up to almost 60° today, so that cold snap was a quick one!

My next question is how we are going to fit everyone for Thanksgiving... I definitely need at least one more table. I wish I could remember how I set it up last year.
You didn't take a picture!? :floorlaugh:

(It is also completely possible I am just very hard on myself and expect perfection from myself.
I've decided there are two kinds of people in the world. The majority of us who feel exactly that, and the rest who don't give a fig and just go ahead with it. Which may or may not be a good thing, depending on the person.

HELLO!!!! Hello hello Helllllllooooooooo!!!!
I'm back baby!! :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: Okay, maybe its the coffee. Chris was right in yesterdays thread, I was gone for surgery. I keep reminding myself it is worth it and oh in another 2 weeks it will be amazing. But right now its not. This one was back of thighs and butt. Three drain straws per leg, yep on the backside. Guess what? Not only was there incisions and work done on the area but you also SIT on that area. So you need to rest, take it easy, drink fluids (pee like crazy) but remember youre doing it all with straws and pain. Pull pants down, (compression so they dont just slide) and dont go fast cause straws wiggle and hurt. Yep, it was a blast. Hard bed, hard couch, hard chairs, trying to get comfortable, yep it was a rough week. There is NOTHING quite like needed to potty and knowing you have to sit on a hard seat and try to gently lower self while trying to not mash the straw on the left thigh the wrong way. My hubby is awesome though and the nurse listened, so we had pre-cut the crotch so I didn't have to pull them down to pee. Best decision ever but still the sit was hard cause everything was bruised and cut. Travel home was okay but it was lots of sitting, which lead to being stiff and unable to move well. The best part was sleeping in my own bed. I love our airbnb but the bed is like cement. Even hubs had a hard time. So it was nice to get home to my much softer bed and sleep. We saw some of the Northern Lights last night while driving. My photos are total crap as we were moving but my daughter and friend got some spectacular photos. My niece in the lower 48 also got an amazing photo. So cool to see and to hear so many of you all got to see them.

My next question is how we are going to fit everyone for Thanksgiving... I definitely need at least one more table. I wish I could remember how I set it up last year. We are going to have 12-14 adults and two little ones.
Ummmmmm, hello, youre a scrapper. Didn't you take photos????? :floorlaugh:
Thank goodness, it wasn;t his heart
Oh my goodness this must have been a heart stopping moment when he told you how he was feeling and what had happened. So thankful it wasn't his heart. I can only imagine how much you worry, which is why he didn't tell you.

Its so crazy how many states we them last night. Super cool for sure. Glad you were able to see them. I was thankful they were out at a "normal" hour as I usually miss them cause they pick 2 am to come out LOL

I totally understand this 100000%. That's what I love about scrapping, I just slap it on the page and it looks okay cause someone else created the amazing artwork. And looking at someones LO and trying to recreate it (or layouts) drives me crazy cause mine just looks like a toddler did it. With all that said and knowing exactly how you feel, let me tell you the other side. I love your layouts. They always look amazing and fun and tell such great stories. I love the photos and how you enhance them with elements. I've always loved seeing your LO, all the way back to scrapgirls when I met you. I think you and I are similar in style, photo heavy/focus and that's part of what really speaks to me. So, while you might not love your LO, post it, I bet its amazing.

Today will a catch up day. Bills, life, laundry, all directed from my couch :floorlaugh: Its 20° and the sun isn't up yet. Everything is coated in several inches of snow (last weeks snow). Temps are good for freezing the lake, so hopefully we get it solid before more snow comes. So looking forward to skiing on the lake this year and not being totally wore out and frozen. Did you know that fibrotic fat gets colder and stays colder longer. When they compare it to frozen peas, they really mean it. I look forward to skiing and then the sauna and NOT having my hips thighs still be cold. Plus moving easier. Yep, gonna be worth all the grumble time of the first three weeks.

Well, not that I'm jumping up to go do anything but should run since I've rambled on and on and on. ;) I've missed the last weeks worth of chatter (no computer) but I hope you all have been doing good and life is somewhat normal. Have a. wonderful day!

Good morning ladies. I'm glad some of you saw the northern lights last night. I was not one of them. I had checked my app and it said very late into the night. Apparently they were visible here around 7 onward. We had the curtains drawn and saw nothing...ugh. I'll be peeking out off and on tonight as they said it may continue. I'm still feeling sick so won't be up too late but maybe I'll see it.

First thing this morning when we came downstairs, Remi got sick twice...ugh. Great way to start the day. No idea what caused it but she's fine now and ate a big bowl of food so hopefully that is the end of that.

Darrell is gone to his crohns infusion for a few hours. We are awaiting biopsy results to see if he is celiac (he had the scans and testing last wk). He may have esophagus crohns on top of the standing crohns that he has had for years with or without celiac disease. Poor guy. Now he is developing polyps and damage in his esophagus which is why his voice is a bit scratchy now.

Good news is that our trip to Newfoundland is confirmed and all deposits paid until the new year. We fly into Toronto and then travel with the group to Newfoundland. Can't wait til May when we go. Now we are just waiting for itinerary and booking plans to be released for Colombia the following year. It probably won't be until after Xmas when the tour group owner puts together a more detailed itinerary but we know he'll put together a fantastic tour. It's so nice to let someone else make all the plans and we can just relax and enjoy it all.

I have been getting ready for a 2 day craft fair this wkend. Also have been looking for easy holiday appies for our party next month. It's also going to depend on the results from D's biopsy as to whether I need to be gluten free or not but we should get results before our party.

I'm doing well with reducing my coffee indulgence in the morning. I have been limiting myself to 2 cups and am getting used to it. One big pot of coffee is now all we have to make in the morning instead of 2 and sometimes a 3rd. With the price of coffee, that sure is saving money. I feel like my sleep has slightly improved and I'm not getting up much for nighttime bathroom break either.

@faerywings You always complain about how you look and I always think you look fantastic. I would kill to have your hair! Wanna trade for my thin hair??? Glad the b-day for dad went well. Your family always has fun together. Sending lots of healthy vibes to the family.

@AK_Tracy You sure go through a lot. I am sending lots of healthy thoughts for all your procedures and recoveries. The whole bathroom thing sounds awful. Keep focusing on the outcome. Hope you feel comfy on your couch today.

I need to get the dogs out into the yard and then get dressed in something warm and cozy and slather on the Vicks.

HAGD everyone.

Yipppe @AK_Tracy you are back I figured that surgery was why we didn't see you. I hope you heal quickly if you want we can moan and groan together!!! Are you able to take anything for pain? I know for me it's the first week being the worst. I'm glad you can sleep in your own bed...I was in recliner for 2.5 weeks could not get into bed.
That cold in those crazy fibrotic fat cells sounds horrible like being up there is the worst for it. How horrible to not be able to comfortable that was my life too before hip replacements and after for awhile....I waited too long. Rest and recover.

@faerywings I'm glad your party worked out good just too bad there was so much bad health news going on. I didn't know you have scoliosis. SIL mother has it very bad and so does her other son...such a hard thing to deal with

Actually I am much better it's a month out for me so I think tomorrow at PT I will be promoted to cane walking. . Jay is driving me to PT tomorrow for the last time then we will go to a celebratory lunch. I look forward to being able to drive myself to PT its 1/2 hour each way twice a week for an hour session.

Girls are going to walk around the pond with me today I want to go 3 times-1.5 mile maybe push to 2 miles so 4 times around.

Got more stuff for the new kitchen---they call it project creep and it sure is. It will be so worth it.

Oh my, poor Darrell, this sounds horrible. I hope the doc finds some answers that are easy to implement, both physical and financial. My daughters has had to refigure her diet but not to the extreme I am sure you guys already do. I hope the restrictions are do-able. So glad he has you Rae. Sounds like you keep him on track and doing well. :heartpumppink:

Its the worst, the bathroom. Sitting is the worst but having to pull compression down tops that LOL. Thankfully straws (drains) are gone so its a bit better. Best part of the couch is NO SEAM! Because its a recliner there is no hard edge and that is the best feeling when trying to get up.
I waited too long
Isn't this the truth. Sums up women all around. We wait to long. I do have pain meds but so far Advil is doing the trick. I took the meds the first couple days and when needed, like flying but over all it feels like muscle discomfort and Advil works. The main leg pain is when I move, get up or go potty. But its short lived pain for the most part.

Glad youre on the mend Debby. The lake walks sound almost fun since you'll be with friends and talking helps the time and pain to go quickly.

The good news, I have nothing to do but sit and scrap. Will see if I can get the first two AJ LO done and maybe some more challenges. I'm not allowed to do anything the rest of this week other then mandatory movement and heal.

Quick in and out again today. After looking for an "American" style waffle iron (not the Belgian style) and not finding any yesterday, I decided to order one. Will get that done some time today and should have by the weekend. :dancing6: 0

I looked at the latest 52-Inspirations-2025 kit: -No-45 Frostbound Kit by Art Addicts Designs I just had to download and play with it. As you can see I also used it for my 'Winter is coming" siggy plus a LO. With all the talk of snow and cold weather, I decided it was time to have a winter siggy. So got them uploaded and around digi-land.

@AK_Tracy you were missed... glad to hear the surgery is done but so sorry the pain/etc is bad. I can't imagine having it done on the back of the legs and your butt... Smart move to cut out the crotch so no pulling the compression pants when nature calls. :hug2:

Just got a notice that 2 of the library books are waiting for me to pick them up. I need to go to the library tomorrow afternoon to pay my property taxes - part of the county's outreach program. The library is only a mile from my house vs the county tax office that is 22 miles away!!! dance3

DD#1 is calling... BBL
